M&R Automation GmbH was founded in 1989 in Feldkirchen/ Graz, by Gerhard Maitz and Herbert Ritter. As the projects became more extensive and challenging and we provided turnkey solutions to our customers, the number of orders kept growing. Today M&R has developed into an internationally successful group of companies. Expertise and technologies employed have undergone a process of consistent ongoing development.

- 1989 formation of the company M&R
- 1998 launch of a new company headquarters in Grambach/ Graz
- 2001 extension of the office building and production building respectively
- 2002 Establishing a subsidiary in Toronto, Canada, M&R Automation Canada Inc..
- 2007 extension of the company facility at Grambach/ Graz, to accommodate a workforce of 350
- 2009 formation of the branch organization in Germany: M&R Automation in Erfurt
- 2009 Establishing a subsidiary in Singapore
