Assembly and Test solutions for plastic components

Due to the increasing desire to provide more comfort and convenience in the vehicle, automotive manufacturers are constantly developing new components which must perform their function over many years, without the vehicle owners paying any particular notice to them. These components range from the 4-zone air conditioning unit to adjustable mirrors and seats equipped with a memory function. Many of these systems are plastic assemblies with corresponding small drives, sometimes extremely small drives.

Very limited component size, minimum weight, product longevity, optimized energy demands: these are just some of the characteristics expected, in addition to the prod-uct performing its function. This demands the highest level of precision from develop-ment, production and production equipment. In a very delicate assembly processes, component quality and component function must be directly monitored and guaranteed. With regard to the product and the assembly equipment, the complexity is focused on the moment of assembly and thus on the assembly and test systems.
